Vale of Haldon Lodge Profile

The Vale of Haldon Lodge , was set up as a dining lodge, more than 60 years ago. We have members from all over the British Isles and Ireland. We currently have a subscribing membership of twentyfour mostly drawn from within ten miles of Dawlish. Two of our members however, have a journey of an hour and a half each way and they never miss a meeting, a testament to their loyalty and the success of the Lodge.

We now meet five times a year, on the first Tuesday of the months of February and April and October to December.

Our current membership list includes 9 master masons. 4 past masters, and 11 Provincial Officers . 10 of our members are 60 and over and 13 are 59 or younger. Two are under 40. and one is 34 .The members have a wide variety of interests and job backgrounds. We come from every corner of the country and 3 were born in Ireland. We have ex service men, emergency services men, shop owners, hotel owners, engineers, salesmen , I.T. specialist, Bank workers, Business men, a chef, and educationalists so you are almost certain to find someone with similar interests.

The two stand out features of the lodge are our dining, and our outstanding support for charity both local and national. We dine well at the Langstone Cliff Hotel , our festive board is renowned for its quality and value with a choice of five, on at least 4 courses. Our fees are very reasonable when this is taken in to account. We encourage our members to progress at a pace which suits their own circumstances, assisting and helping where needed. The emphasis is on enjoyment and we do enjoy our masonry in an atmosphere of good humour. We arrange occasional social events, joining with other lodges to enjoy the company of other like minded people.

We are responsive to change if this brings improvement, always respecting our traditional core values of Integrity, Respect, Friendship and Service.
