We held our first Ceremony on October 5th after a false start due entirely to Covid. Most of our members were present and we carried out a second degree ceremony without too much trouble. Naturally, after 18 months forced absence, we were a little rusty, but all went well with a lovely atmosphere. Our Senior Deacon deserves special mention for all the work he put in, but it was as always a great team effort, led by our WM.
Our November meeting will be a short affair with a talk and a second degree tracing board carried out by our A.D.C. in his immitigable manner.
December will be our business meeting which will be followed by our Christmas meal at the Langstone Cliff Hotel. This promises to be a splendid affair at which we will invite our ladies and friends to join us . It is lovely to be back doing what we do and enjoying our Masonry.
It is worth mentioning that during this enforced closure, our landlords Salem Lodge , have been very busy bringing the premises completely up to date and fully Covid safe. We now have a fresh air system which provides and extracts, a new fully controllable heating system, new lighting ,and a completely freshly decorated premises. We wish to record our thanks to all the members who assisted in these works and a special mention to our Mentor who has been fully involved as chairman of the hall committee, again a great team effort by all.
Our next big event will be our installation meeting in FEBRUARY 2022.
MEMBERSHIP UPDATE
As I write this we have had an application for a joining member, another one who is considering joining and an application for membership which is going through the system. If all goes to plan a total of three new members and a reward for all the hard work put in to revitalise our order which many lodges are experiencing, after some really good publicity for the charitable works done by so many during this Pandemic.
